Dowlaishwaram is a suburb situated near Rajahmundry in the East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, India. It was part of Rajahmundry urban agglomeration.

It is approximately four kilometres distance from Rajahmundry. Dowlaishwaram is close to national highway-5. It is well connected by roadways.

Its a one of the major panchayath in East Godavari District and also biggest panchayath in Rajahmundry Rural Assembly Consistency. Actually Government has planned to make this as a Municipality because of its immense growth in all sectors, but it is very close to Rajahmundry about 5 km. So Government has decided to merge this panchayath into Rajahmundry and has a plan to Develop this. Once it is merged into Rajahmundry then this village will get all the basic needs like Water, Road Facility (which is hectic nowadays), Proper Drainage facility, Bus stand (which is completely vanished out), schools and proper severage system. Its population is nearly 50,000, which is 30% in total population of Rajahmundry Rural Assembly

Sir Arthur Cotton built a barrage across river Godavari here. The Sir Arthur Cotton museum developed by the then chief engineer Mr. P. Madan Gopal is located in Dowlaishwaram. It contains many pictures describing the working of the dam and display of the tools used during the construction.[1] This barrage provides water for East and West Godavari for agricultural purposes. There is a Sir Arthur Cotton statue in the village. Another attraction is boating on the Godavari.
