My friend situation:

 

He is working in Indian company 'A' but he got a offer from a consultancy 'B' in USA who filed his H1B and got approved this year.

Now recently the Indian company has asked him to go to onsite on L1.

 

What are the safest options here:

  • To go to L1 stamping with Indian company 'A' and come to US and the apply change of status to H1B for consultancy 'B'? What are the implications of change of status from L1 to H1 and how much does it cost?
     
  • OR go with H1B stamping for consultancy 'B' itself directly with their internal project. But there might be issue if he doesn't get a project once he comes to USA and stays on bench?

 

Not sure what is the best option here. Need your inputs if someone faced this situation before.

Indian company L1 chesindi ante koncham perunna company na like infy or tcs? If so, visa interview ki L1 tho velthe higher chances of acceptance. consultancy dwaara H1 ante visa chances koncham kastame. 

 

atani main intention US ravatam aithe if he likes his Indian company, just come with L1 and work happily..why even bother about H1? dependent wife L2 unte ame kuda work cheyachu kada..

 

ledu indian company dwara istam ledu, anukunte inka only option is H1 thru consultant by taking a chance at the consulate.

L1 stamping avvakapothe appudu H1 try cheyochu..  H1 ante visa ravali job ravali.  L1 pai vochaka job vethukoni H1 ki maaripothe better ani na abhiprayam..

Right going with indian company for stamping is always safe as it is a big company. 

 

Yes he wants to move away from indian company. 

 

You only mentioned about H1 stamping in India. What about going for L1 stamping in India and then applying for change of status in US to H1B?

Also do u have any info on the cost involved for Change of status from L1 to H1? I am assuming it can't be the same fee as applying for a fresh H1B because this guy already has his H1B approved.

Go for L1 stamping.

 

Come to US and start working for at least 3 months.

 

Then H1 approve aina employer through marketing start chei. Get a job you want and ask the client for client letter as something you need for h1 amendment. This clarity should be there before switching, you will need most of these documents such as client letters and any SOA or purchase orders etc. Make sure the layers are willing to help you while switching.

 

Now, COS ki apply chei.. dont tell your current indian company yet. Let the two weeks pass for premium processing. RFE gatra unte telsi poddi. COS aithe only one problem you cannot start working without an approval notice.

 

Nee consultancy konchem easy aithe they will pay cash and send you onboard. Do that if you dont get anything in the first 2 weeks of premium processing. If you want to work for cash for couple of weeks, you will tell your client at this time ORR you can tell your indian company that you want 2 week vacation because you are sick.

 

Now let the h1 be approved. And you can go to the h1 company. This way you keep the status and still be able to switch.

But dude big companies in india like wipro, infy, tcs and cognizant they have consultants coming here right...how is the current trend for L1s?
