electionszindabad Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 earth spins because of the gravity of the SUN and moon. if moon were to be destroyed ( may be due to a meteor strike ) then earth will go right into the SUN and will burn well before it reaches the sun's atmosphere.... if the sun explodes ( process called supernova) it takes out atleast half of the solar system so there wont be EARTH when there is no sun. anyways keeping all this stuff aside, if earth stops spinning, then whole world will be travelling all the time to the other ends of the planets to get sunshine, or nightdarkness...
