Friends -

planning to open NRE  FIXED DEPOSIT account in India. Interest rates almost 8.00-9.00% unnayi kanni US lo CD athie only 0.02%. interest rate of intha difference endhuku?? not sure if there's any caveats with 8.00-9.00% interest  rates(other than voiding the maturity period).

For understanding - 9.00% @5,00,000INR - annual interest - 45,000 INR per year. Is this correct? na main doubt emiti ante - us lo CD's ki - india lo NRE A/C's interest rate chala differerence undhi- do not know why??

Also, NRE Accounts - konni banks - maturity period less than 2 yrs term athie 8.75% and more than 2 yrs athie 8.5% interest rate?? maturity period ekkuava unte, i thought, interest rate more undali ga(because banks can make more money)?? not sure on the logic here? ..

mee lo evarinna NRE accounts unte.. please advice. thank you

yeah - senior citizens ki koncham ekkuava undhi.. also, just as an example  : 45 Lakhs NRE FD chesthe, with 9.00% interest, year ki approx ga 4 Lakhs vasthayi...kani chala mandhi 45 Lakhs unte, they prefer to buy an apt and rent it and with 15,000 rent  per month - we only get 1,80,000 INR plus apt maintence expense (of course inka chala considerations untayi).

But overall, 45 Lakhs investment unte, FD with 9.00% interest rates looks better option then buying a house and renting.  again, not sure if I am missing any point.....evarikianna telisthe  pls advice cheyandi

yes 45 lakhs unte FD cheste interest rate ekkuva...per year compared to buying and renting an apartment. it is totally an individual's decision. apartment kone vallu apartment rate appreciate autundi anna hope lo kontaru..for ex: oka 10 years lo double kuda avvachu anukuntaru..inkotha mandiki apartment edaina deal lo vaste koni pettukuntaru, rather than putting all eggs in one basket (all money in FD)..

kontha mandi motham FD chesi itnerest chaalu anukuntaru...

in these cases, no option is good or bad..it totally depends on your situations your plans etc.. andarni follow avvalani ledu.. ne life lo ne necessities ni batti u can invest... but in general it's not recommended to put all your eggs in one basket..

45 lakhs cash levu bro.. just example iccha...not real... naku NRE FD ki 9% interest untundhi anni teliyadhu...ninna urike NRE FD chusthe, i was pleasantly surprised....

9% interest rate for FD with maturity period of 365 days looks good option for any one who has some money but do not know what to do yet, considering that you are getting good yield and safe  investment, with small maturity period, your money is not really locked.

Yeah, you are very true, it completely depends one's plans and siutation.
