Reliance Power Is Implementing India's Largest Gas-Based Power Project

Reliance Power is implementing India's largest gas-based power project, a 2,400 MW combined cycle thermal power plant at Industrial Development Area of Peddapuram, Samalkot Mandal, East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh, India.

The Project site is well connected by air, rail, road and sea. The nearest National Highways are NH-214 and NH-5, which are at a distance of 12 Km and 17 Km respectively from the project site. The nearest Airport from the site is at Rajahmundry, which is about 50 km away from the Project site.

The project will use world class equipment like advanced class gas turbines from GE. Construction work is progressing at a rapid pace and the project is expected to start generating power in 2012. It will be one of the fastest implementation of a gas based power project in the world.
