This seems to be the message one can get from the life of Indian American and a Telugu student Koushik Prithvi, who hails from Adilabad district. Koushik is a middle class Indian American who lives in Alabama and studies at Alabama University. And one day, he got inspired by a doctor's speech and wanted to fight the spread of type-2 diabetes and diabetic obesity, which affects one in every ten Americans. His efforts through Diabetic Education Centre (DIET) won him American national award. Campus Connect foundation presented Newman Civic award to him, which is given to students in social service activities. Alabama University stated a course in Diabetes and took Koushik as a faculty.
