badshah_afdb4 Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 The Singapore bug has caught up with TRS chief and Telangana CM KCR who wants to plant 210 crore saplings in 3 years to improve greenery in state by 33 % on a schematic pattern of Singapore with SILVER OAK, RAAVI, MARRI, NEEM, POGADA, avenue and social plantations. KCR has named the program as 'HARITA HARAM' to organize a green week every month by involving people at large, peoples representatives like MLAs, MPs, Ministers as well as Collectors and SPs of the districts. GHMC told to not issue construction permission without mandatory tree plantation for which funds from MGNREGA and CAMPA be exploited. The HMDA and GHMC will have a target of 10 crores saplings for three years besides 40 lakh saplings in each assembly segment meaning each village with 33,000 saplings. Approximately there are about 100 crores of trees in Telangana and KCR wants officials to make it three fold. KCR wants plants all along roads, forests river bunds, river legs, tanks in and around tank bund near the shore area, compounds of all institutions, institutional areas, all the educational institutions, Industries, Factories including Government of India offices, University campuses on a war footing.
