The Andhra Pradesh state has got the nod from the center to increase the production of electricity to another 1600 Megawatts with 7842 crores of loan by REC and RFC together . The Rural Electrification Corporation and Power Finance Corporation of India will lend 4300 crores to start the fifth unit of Vijayawada thermal power plant for additional 800 Megawatts of power production and 3452 crores to increase the production of another 800 Megawatts in Nellore Krishnapatnam power plant
