I used IHC short term insurance in the past. google "ihc health solutions" and check with them.

 Most insurance start from 1st day of the month, so plan accordingly..

 

Also, remember, even if you do not have Insurance - Hospitals are , by law, required to treat the patient.

If possible, instead of going to ER - go to Quick Care or Urgent Care Service Providers. 

Also, if possible, try to go to State Government hospitals or university hospitals. Also, if you are not able to pay the biil, you can always talk to hospital and have them either adjust the bill or make monthly payments.  Also, if they ask you admit into the hospital, try doing that after 12:000 am, that way you are only charged for one day atleast for that room. A

 

Again, nothing is more important than Health. So, depending on how bad the pain is, take an action.
