Autonagar Surya Review

Story:

 

Surya is an abandoned kid whose parents were killed. He grows up in Auto Nagar and works for a good hearted mechanic who owns a shed. He is fascinated about car technology. He has an ideology and looks at the core of the problems unlike those who look at surface. He goes to jail after killing a goon and released after few years. He finds that Auto Nagar is plagued with rogue politicians, mafia men, bad police and inefficient governance. Rest of the story is all about how he tried to correct the system in how own way.

 

 

Performances:

 

Naga Chaitanya : He has done an excellent job as Autonagar Surya, his expressions were perfect ,dialogue delivery was too good as his character has excessive number of lengthy  dialogues . Samantha has limited scope and she was okay. Sai Kumar was impressive though his character was not properly etched. Ajay was perfect for the role, Jayaprakash reddy was apt. Nandu ans Naveen neni were fine in supporting roles. Brahmi comedy was just okay. Sammeta Gandhi and others were okay. Madhu was too good in main villain's role though he was limited screen space, director concentration on his scenes has elevated his role/performance further.

 

 

Technical Departments:

 

Story-Screenplay-Direction: Story may sound like a regular one but devakatta made sure that it look different by creating a new kind of characterization for the main role. Screenplay was too good for the entire first half, establishment of main and other characters and the whole setup was nice. Pre interval and interval episode work very well raise whiche expectations on second half. But Devakatta got did not handle the second half the way it had to . Kidnap episode and following scenes  were  okay but it's not up to the mark move considering the hero character. Instead of that deva should have set the game between main villain and hero. He tried to mix the regular elements into the serious movie, though that worked for some time ,those scenes and forced item song  led to the downfall of the movie. Also Climax was abrupt. Devakatta excelled as a dialogue writer but he has done an ordinary job as a director  though he excelled in conceiving some  scenes very well like last 20 mins towards the interval episode and also  all the scenes between ajay and chaitanya were good.

 

Other Departments:

 

Dialogues by devakatta were too good though they were excessive. Camera work was good, Songs were just okay but anup rubens scored with good background score. Editing could have been better in second half. Action sequences were good.

 

 

My Rating: 5.5/10

 

 

Analysis: Autonagar Suyra- Naga chaitanya's performance and dialogues work for the movie but lack of required depth and intensity is it's biggest minus point.
