Chandrasekhar Rao, who sworn in on June 2, appointed day of the State, has successfully completed one-month Today. KCR's one-month rule witnessed mixed reviews as there are only a handful of positive developments while most of them sparked off controversies. Here is our take on KCR's One-month rule.Polavaram RowEven before he sworn in as the CM, the very first move of KCR was to call for Telangana bandh protesting Centre's ordinance to transfer mandals and villages of Khammam into Andhra Pradesh. This drew flak from various sectors as Opposition parties questioned KCR for his "inaction" in Lok Sabha when the Telangana Bill was passed during UPA II regime.Farm Loan WaiverSoon after swearing-in as CM, KCR has apparently tried to go back on his poll promise of farm loan waiver. This faced wrath of several farmers instantly. Opposition parties too sharply reacted on the issue and put immense pressure on KCR. Within this, few farmers reportedly committed suicide allegedly after KCR's statement on farm-loan waiver. Later, KCR again retracted his previous statement and assured that he would fulfill his poll promise of loan waiver up to Rs 1 Lakh.Fee Reimbursement IssueTelangana government's decision to not to pay tuition fee of backward students of Andhra Pradesh studying in Telangana turned out to be one of the most contentious decision. KCR stirred up a hornet's nest by further framing a rule that a student's father and grandfather should born in Telangana in order to avail fee reimbursement. Naturally, this don't go well with students, parents who took admissions depending on welfare scheme of government. This also invited backlash from AP Government.Gurukul Trust LandAnother much-controversial issue that KCR's government dealt was demolition of "illegal constructions" in Gurukul Trust Land, located in Ayyappa Society of Madhapur. While scores of people opposed Government's move and asked government to regularize their lands, buildings, few took the streets. However, cops stepped into action and tried to bring the situation into control. Government has passed strict orders to demolish all "illegal constructions". It may be recalled that KCR's own daughter- now Nizamabad MP Kavitha had stood behind the Gurukul Trust Land holders before elections. Now that elections' are over and KCR assumed the power, things turned around and she is tight-lipped on the issue now. The whole episode of father-daughter added fuel to speculations, rumours and criticism from Opposition parties. Presently, the matter is still burning. Hyderabad Metro Rail ProjectKCR's decision to change the layout of Hyderabad Metro Rail Project in the eleventh hour apparently miffed L&T management. Of course, KCR has a reason. He wants historical landmarks and constructions to be exumpted from demolishing and ordered officials to chalk out better, new plan. With this, the ongoing works of Hyderabad Metro Rail Project come to a grinding halt in few key areas across the city pushing the deadline.Police ReformsThe move to bring reforms in Police department too got mixed response. While T-government has decided to provide brand-new Innovas to cops and even planning to change the colour of their uniform if possible, few have welcomed the move while others lamented the move. KCR's detractors called the move as "cost-enhancing" decision.Water issuePost bifurcation, the sharing of Sagar water between Telangana and new state of Andhra Pradesh turned out to be burning issue at national level. Despite many attempts and requests by AP government, T-government choose to snub it. Even Centre government too ordered T-government to share water to AP.Ban on TV9, ABNAbove all, the blocking of telecast of news channels TV9 and ABN in 10 districts of Telangana from June 16 has triggered backlash from social, media organizations. Although TRS government shunned that it has no role and put the onus on Telangana MSOs on the issue, fact of the matter is that KCR himself made a resolution in Telangana Assembly against the two channels. While KCR alleged ABN for its "anti-Telangana government" stand, he has a valid point for blaming TV9 as it aired a programming apparently "demeaning" its leaders.Setting up of new CompaniesKCR vowed full support to setting up of new companies in and around Hyderabad, Medak and Siddipet. KCR's son-IT Minister KTR too made a series of promises to IT sector and Communication sector to start up more branches in Telangana and give employment to local students as many as they could.However, the myth among many companies is that T-government is not business-friendly and few even started to move to Andhra Pradesh. In between, KCR and KTR made quick moves to send good signals and successful in doing this. This is one step which can be given thumbs up for the T-government.On whole, KCR's one month ruling received mixed response from political analysts, observers.
