General District Court was not pleased with your speed of 100/65 mph zone during the Memorial Day Holiday. He would not agree to only impose the maximum $2,500.00 fine and be finished with your case. Because the Prosecutor was asking for a jail sentence to be imposed (which is the usual Disposition at speeds of 100 mph), the Judge has issued a capias warrant for your arrest. However, the Judge expressed his opinion that he didn't think the warrant was likely to be served on you in NC, and your case would probably just hang in limbo with no final outcome. That means that if the capias warrant is served on you in NC, you will be arrested and brought to Montgomery Co. Virginia. It may not ever be served in you in NC. However, even if it is never served on you in NC, if you are ever involved in a traffic stop in VA, you will be arrested on the outstanding capias. Your other option is to voluntarily turn yourself in to the Montgomery Co. Sheriff's Office, and appear on this charge in the Montgomery Co. General District Court on August 4, 2014 at 9:30. The outcome is likely to be a jail sentence of a few days, a fine between $1,000 and $2,500, and immediate suspension of your right to drive in VA. Please be aware that once NC is notified of the VA suspension, they will most likely issue a suspension of your NC Driving License.I cannot advise you on which option to take. Think about it for a few days. You can take a chance on the capias not catching up with you, or you can choose to voluntarily turn yourself in to the MontgomeryCo. krypton Posted July 8, 2014 Report Posted July 8, 2014 nen google chesa most responses are these for va over 80 or anything 20+ punch padtadi anta , some say it is better to show up in court and sometimes you can call court and explain that u got job and cant get a day off and are willing to pay fines and they do have a payment plan so lumpsome kattabadadu....court attend ithey advantage endante fines tagginchachu and valid explanation isthe speeding ki jail veyadu...i would say as remedy before doing anything tell him to take a remedial drivers course immediately as it will show that he is proactive and willing to educate himself in the right way to stop speeding , voluntary ga course cheste they will consider it positively.
