CHANAKYA Posted July 8, 2014 Report Posted July 8, 2014 if you want to sell the vehicle after couple of yrs....appudu resale gurinchi aloochinchu.....but if u plan to keep it for 7+ yrs....then dont bother abt resale value.......anni yrs tharuvatha any car aina value almost same untadi......but ee 7 - 8 + yrs nuvvu everyday enjoy cheyyali.....adi gurthupettuko .............. And Nissan re-sale value is no less than Honda and Toyota All the best for ur search +1 Also if considering Nissan Rogue you may need to think abt its transmission. Unlike standard 5 speed or 6 speed (CRV, RAV4), it only offers CVT. Not only it offers extra mileage [compared with Nissan R (26-33) than others (CRV and RAV4 - 22/31)] but also problems. The new 2014 model falls into 2nd generation vehicle. But the 1st generation vehicle had had many issues/recalls only because of this CVT problems. And for some particular models (2008-2010, I guess) of 1st generation, Nissan had to extend the manufacturer power train warranty to 10 yrs or 100,000 miles. So the CVT is not a joke. It can make/break your purchase. I was in the same-boat for couple of months trying to decide btn CRV and Nissan R. Here are my thoughts: CRV, 4th gen' 2012-2016 models Pros: Nice exterior design, More leg room, spacious, brand value, manly look. Personally, I also like the sifter position and speedometer view. cons: the foremost thing is: 1) being 4 cylinder engine - means less power (RAV4 used to offer 6 cylinder engine till 2012 but they stopped it with their new generation, 2013). 2) Less design wise features. 3) Also, you must get EXL (with AWD and Nav) in order to feel the complete CRV. That means, you cant get some nice/needed features in the mid trim levels (EX). Nissan R: 2nd generation, 2014- Pros: Along with CRV benefits, it offers some more nice features. Like, TPMS, signal light indicators, blind spot warning, etc. CRV also has the TPMS but you feel the difference with Nissan R (CRV only shows a tire is low in pressure but N-R shows which specific tire it is). Also, along with manly exterior look, N-R gives a luxurious inside look. AWD-lock is another good option from N-R. You have the 3rd option with SV model, but it is not a good idea. And, good mpg. Cons: Nissan-R answers CRV points 2 and 3 but not point 1. Along with point 1, the transmission is another major draw back for N-R. Even though Nissan claims that it used a new version of CVT for 2nd generation, we still dont know how far we can trust it. Because the 2014 model went on sale last year (nov-dec) only. So we need to wait at-least an year before we can sure on our investment of 30,000 on this. Points to consider: 1) Why SUV: (Do you really *need* an SUV of less power and features? when you can get a luxurious car by spending the same amount.) If so, for what? for family? For a family of 5, a car is okay. For a family of more than 5, may be you need a 7 seater suv or a van; not an 5 seater suv. 2) Situation: If you have 2 sources (you and your wife) of income then you may play with your purchase. I mean, by taking a N-R or something like that. Otherwise, I would not suggest it. 3) Best price: In case if you dont know, check the truecar website for best prices and dealers. Give your self some time, do some thorough research and make a decision. Good luck!!
kakatiya Posted July 8, 2014 Report Posted July 8, 2014 also on window sticker look for % of parts made in united states. And bargain with nissan dealer that you are getting affordable price by honda dealers and with honda dealers provoke them that you are getting better price for rouge at nissan..
