NEW DELHI: There was an ugly brawl in Parliament on Tuesday after the Trinamool Congress alleged misbehaviour by BJP MPs.

Members of the Trinamool Congress claimed that BJP lawmakers tried to assault them while hurling abuses.

In dramatic visuals that were broadcast on TV channels, Kalyan Banerjee from the Trinamool Congress was seen running out of Parliament, shouting that a BJP leader had threatened him.

After a few minutes, when he calmed down, he said a member of the BJP who was drunk in the House said he would beat Trinamool leaders and threatened to pull off the sari of Kakoli Ghosh.

The BJP MP accused of misbehaving with Ghosh has dismissed the charge.

The Trinamool is headed by West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.

 

లోక్ సభలో ఒక మహిళా ఎమ్.పి చీరను బిజెపి ఎమ్.పి ఒకరు లాగబోయారన్న ఆరోపణ కలకలం రేపుతోంది.బిజెపి ఈ విషయాన్ని తీవ్రంగా ఖండిస్తున్నా ఏకంగా పశ్చిమబెంగాల్ ముఖ్యమంత్రి మమత బెనర్జీనే ఈ విమర్శ చేయడంతో ఈ అంశానికి విశేష ప్రాధాన్యత ఏర్పడింది.రైల్వే బడ్జెట్ లో బెంగాల్ కు అన్యాయం జరిగిందని తాము శాంతియుతంగా నిరసన తెలుపుతుంటే ,మద్యం సేవించి ఉన్న ఒక బీజేపీ ఎంపీ, ఇతర ఎంపీలతో కలసి వచ్చి మమ్మల్ని దూషించడంతోపాటు బెదిరించారని,తమ పార్టీ ఎంపీ కల్యాణ్‌బెనర్జీ సభ నుంచి బయటకు వెళుతుంటే ఓ బీజేపీ ఎంపీ బెదిరించారు తృణమూల్ కాంగ్రెస్ ఎమ్.పిలు ఆరోపించారు.ఆ తర్వాత మమత బెనర్జీ మాట్లాడుతూ తమ ఎమ్మా.పిల పట్ల బిజెపి ఎమ్.పిలు నీచంగా మాట్లాడారని ఆరోపించారు , బడ్జెట్లో బెంగాల్‌కు జరిగిన అన్యాయంపై నిరసన తెలుపుతుంటే, తమ పార్టీ మహిళా ఎంపీ అయిన కకోలీ ఘోష్ చీరను లాగారని తెలిపారు. అసభ్యకరమైన పదజాలాన్ని ఉపయోగించారని మండిపడ్డారు. నిజంగా ఇలా జరిగి ఉంటే దారుణమే. అలా జరగకుండా ఏదో ఒక ఆరోపణ చేసి ఉంటే అది చౌకబారు తనం అవుతుంది. ఎలాగైనా మన ఎమ్.పి ల తీరు ఇలా ఉందని బాధపడాలి.

BJP Denies Trinamool's Charges of Threats of Assault in Parliament

 

 In an embarrassing and ugly new low for Parliament, law-makers from the ruling BJP and Bengal's Trinamool Congress had to be restrained today from attacking each other in the Lok Sabha.  

Kalyan Banerjee of the Trinamool was seen rushing out of Parliament, shouting that a drunk BJP law-maker had threatened to beat up members of the Trinamool and disrobe Kakoli Ghosh, a woman MP.  

The BJP has denied the accusations.   

The trouble began when Trinamool law-makers began shouting slogans against the Prime Minister in the Lok Sabha to protest against the Railways Budget which was presented today. They alleged that Bengal and its development had been ignored in the financial plan. BJP law-makers retaliated with slogans of their own that praised the PM.  (Railway Budget 2014: Top 10 Announcements)

Tempers soared and just when it looked like a brawl would erupt, senior BJP leaders Kalraj Mishra and Prakash Javadekar rushed to keep the two sides apart. (Rail Budget 2014: What's in it For You?)  

"We were putting slogans because we are unhappy with rail budget...suddenly MPs from treasury benches came to beat us. They used such filthy language. If women are not safe inside the House, how people in the country will be safe in the hands of the BJP?" asked Ms Ghosh of the Trinamool. (Rail Budget 2014: Full Text of DV Sadananda Gowda's Speech)

Mamata Banerjee, the West Bengal Chief Minister who heads the Trinamool, said in Kolkata that she had been briefed on the phone and that "whatever  happened is unfortunate. Parliament is the pillar of democracy." However, reiterating the point her MPs had made, she asked, "Bengal has been given nothing. Are we beggars?" ('Bengal Has Been Given Nothing, Are We Beggars?' Trinamool leaders say that the BJP's Hari Narayan Rajbhar hurled a torrent of abuse at them; he says that's incorrect. (Gowda Promises Course Correction for Bleeding Railways)

"When they started abusing (us), our MPs intervened," said Harish Dwivedi of the BJP. "Opposition women MPs started running towards them. So people from our party went to intervene," he countered.
