timmy Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 Former minister and T CLP leader K.Jana Reddy has called the approval of Bill to mend the AP Reorganization Act for replacing the Polavaram Ordinance, as unfortunate and expressed his disagreement. He appealed that both the Governments must now come together and discuss the issues involved and in the best interest of the people who will be displaced. He demanded the Centre to convince the states for an alternative design and then go forward on constructing the dam.

timmy Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 Odisha MP Bhartruhari Mehtab has opposed the Polavaram amendment Bill, because the Andhra Pradesh government has not taken the Odisha Government and Chhatiisgarh government before taking a decision on increasing the dam height. He said Odisha is not against Polavaram project as such but against the high-handedness of AP Government and as many as 300 villages will be inundated. The amendment Bill is just for that, he said.
