Polavaram To Be Renamed As Tarakarama Sagar

AP government has plans to re-name many present and upcoming projects in the state. In this regard, Polavaram is very high on their cards to be named after NT Ramarao who initiated the project in the late 80s.

After the Polavaram ordinance bill got through parliament with an amendment to the AP reorganization Act now the TDP govt plans to rename the the Polavaram project as 'NTR Sagar' or Tarakarama Sagar.

AP deputy chief minister K E Krishna Murthy wants the Polavaram project should be named as Tarakarama Sagar..completion of Polavaram project was a dream of late NTR and he objected to the naming of Indira Sagar for such a prestigious project in telugu heartland
