Need Suggestion - Cpt/ Opt

Hi

My friend has 3.5 years of IT exp in India and now doing MS - 1st SEM is completed. A consultancy guy has asked him to apply for CPT now so that he can earn 90k/anum.

Consultancy wants to file a normal H1 in April 2015 and once his masters get complete he will change this application to Masters Quota. Consultancy wants to do so as he can apply 3 times 2015/ 16/ 17 so that we have high changes of H1 getting picked up.

Ques:

1. He will get into OPT status in May 2015 - so it is ok if he opts for CPT now - As Query's avi padi OPT reject chese chances vunai anta kada ?

2. H1 file chese strategy fine or are there any issues?

tht consultancy guy can apply for him H1 in general quota...offering employment to your friend.

for this your friend  NEEDNOT take opt cpt.

by taking CPT your friend might get RFEs etc..which wll be problem going further..

so let your friend complete his masters ...atleast 1and half yr...then try all of this.

 

in this gap..the consultancy guy can apply h1 for your friend..if he gets it...then he can move onto H1 and work and then complete his masters parallely..

 

dont take cpt with one sem completion...not good
