Chenchu tribes were once known for their beauty and their mingling with nature.But now their tribe is facing the danger of extinction. Chenchus live in about 120 hamlets across Nallamala forests. 56 of these hamlets fall under Mahabubnagar district. They lack basic amenities like shelter, food, health centres or drinking water. Only leaves and tree barks are used to cure any illness. All the promises made by previous governments could not fructify due to corruption in ITDAs. So, they have started a Padayatra to Mahabubnagar collectorate with a slogan to save their problems.
