President Pranab Mukherjee has signed into law, the amendment Bill passed by both the Houses of Parliament transferring villages in seven mandals from Telangana state to residual Andhra Pradesh. In effect, five revenue mandals of Khammam district have completely merged with AP and two mandals have merged partially. All the mandals originally belonged to Bhadrachalam division. It may be recalled that the Bill was passed in Lok Sabha amid acrimony and thereafter in Rajya Sabha
