just2deal Posted July 22, 2014 Report Posted July 22, 2014 For Very Low Frequency radar station ! Used to listen/intercept to very low frequency communication between ships/submarines as far as 10,000 kms. It is a complex set of radars and antennas spread over (networked) 100s of acres Similar to this type of project http://australianmap.net/harold-e-holt-communications-station/
posaanisam Posted July 22, 2014 Report Posted July 22, 2014 For Very Low Frequency radar station ! ardam kaledu bhayya...? forest lands potaya untaya..?
just2deal Posted July 22, 2014 Report Posted July 22, 2014 ardam kaledu bhayya...? forest lands potaya untaya..? To set up such radar you need a large area .Only the pints at which the hardware is installed the forest area to be cleared to erect structures like receivers/antennas /transmitters etc. Each of these are atleast 1 km apart and are connected with cables.max 5% of the land will be used/cleared and the rest may not be disturbed. BTW navy will be paying $110 crores just for afforestation (i.e planting trees for the extent that has been used) This project may not bring any new jobs or business to locals as most of it is automated and only few engineers or operators are required.Hyderabad may be selected as it has strategically located and availability of land

Underwater lo radio waves except Very Low freq ( 3 to 30khz) anni absorb aipothai so submarine can only communicate by sound or VLF radio. So Navy submarines pampinche VLF radio waves ni receive chesukodaniki chala pedda antennae kavali and they need a lot of land so dani kosam HYD degara forest land Icharu anthe..
