The agitation of farmers, against the power cuts, turned violent today, with the lathi charge of the police on them. Farmers burned the effigy of K.Chandra Sekhara Rao, chief minister of Telangana. At least 10 farmers injured in the lathi charge of the police. The farmers, who raged with the lathi charge, pelted stones on the police vehicles, Meanwhile, the agitations have been continuing in Warangal, Nalgonda districts also . They demanded power cuts should be lifted for the agriculture fields.

Farmers in Telangana districts are protesting against power-cuts in the state. Medak district turned into a war zone as farmers turned angry and launched counter-attack by stone-pelting. Farmers organised Rasta-rokos and attacked power sub-stations in various districts. Traffic has come to a standstill along Nizamabad-Hyderabad Highway. The incident at Narsingi in Chegunta mandal has made police concerned. Angry farmers actually chased CI Gangaram, beat him up and caused injury in his stomach. A 108 ambulance was rushed to the sppot and the CI has been shifted to a hospital

Congress, TDP lambast KCR for lathi charge on farmers - ABN

 

Congress party Telangana leaders and Telugu Desam Telangana leaders lambasted the chief minister K.Chandra Sekhara Rao for today's lathi charge on the farmers in Medak district. Congress senior leader Mallu Ravi alleged that KCR government is anti-farmers government. He, along with Kodanda Reddy demanded that KCR government should tender apology for the incident. Meanwhile, Telugu Desam leaders demanded that an enquiry should be held on the lathi charge incident. TDP leaders Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy and Narsareddy condemned the incident.
