We know that Saif Ali Khan was honored with the very prestigious Padma Shri award in the year 2010, for his contribution to cinema. He was accompanied by lovely wife Kareena when he went to receive it from the then President, Pratibha Patil.

Well, unfortunately for Saif, he could be stripped off this honor due to a case filed by an RTI activist. The activist SC Agrawal filed a complaint against the nawab at the Union Home Ministry in March. In his complaint, the activist mentioned that Saif should be stripped off the Padma Shri as he had a court case charging him with assault, in the year 2012.

 

In 2012, Saif and two of his friends - Shakeel Ladak and Bilal Amrohi got into a brawl with a South African businessman at a five star hotel in Mumbai. While Saif had mentioned that Iqbal Sharma, the Indian-origin businessman had abused and assaulted him and his friends, Iqbal had gone so far to file a complaint against Saif saying that the latter assaulted him at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Colaba.

Well, though this incident is long forgotten, it has returned to haunt Saif and possibly have him lose his medal of honor. The union government is examining the case and is yet to give the verdict.
