Robbery of a 400-year-old statue of Goddess Bangaru Maisamma from a temple at Gowli Pura in Hyderabad Old city, has alerted police. The theft took place on the night before the Sravana Shukravaram, the day on which women throng Goddess Durga's temples. The theft took place despite police bandobast and this has angered devotees. Police reached the spot after complaint and two teams are put into action to nab the robbers
