The AP cabinet is likely to place a annual budget of 160 crores for Anna canteen. It has almost decided to set up 'Anna canteens' across the State on par with 'Amma canteens' in Tamil Nadu. The review meet has been conducted in this regard and it is learnt that Anna canteen will be launched in all the thirteen districts of AP in the name of NTR. A cost structure has been formed in this review meet. A cabinet sub-committee has been set up to study the Amma canteene set up in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati and Anantapur on a pilot basis and likely to extend later to other parts of residuary Andhra Pradesh.
