Geethanjali Review

Story:

 

A woman commits suicide in an apartment in Hyderabad. That apartment becomes a haunted one. Srinivas (Srinivasa Reddy) is a passionate movie lover who comes to Hyderabad looking for direction opportunities. He rents this haunted apartment without knowing about suicide incident. Strange things start happening and he is visited by Anjali (Anjali). He slowly realises that there is a ghost in the house. The rest of the story is about the connection between ghost and Anjali. .

 

Performances : Anhali has done the Title role but she doesn't have much scope/screen time to perform except for climax. Sreenivas Reddy did an important role and he was perfect. Rao Ramesh was excellent. Harshavardhan Rane is okay in a short role. Satyam Rajesh and Shakalaka Shankar were successful in generating comedy. Brahmi was okay.Others all were okay.

 

 

Technical Departments:

Story-Screenplay-Direction: Story line is nothing different from regular horror flicks. Screenplay bu Kona Venkat is very good for the first half and maintains the curiosity till interval . Comedy scenes worked out and also suspense is maintained and well handled as said. Initial part of the second half is quite good but the graph goes down after the flashback episode is revealed and movie gets into predictable. More care should have been taken towards the climax, little changes in twist revealing would have made it more thrilling . Overall Debutante Director Raj kiran has done a fine job in his first attempt.

 

 

Other Departments:

 

 

Dialogues by Kona Venkat were nice. Camera work is good, Editing was fine. Songs are adequate and background score was apt.

 

 

My Rating: 5.5/10

 

 

 

Analysis: Geethanjali - Watchable Regular Horror Comedy . A Better made second half and climax could have made it more effective and interesting.
