From singing in trains to releasing her first album, Durga, the 16-year-old girl, who sang the Chi-cha-ledar song in 'Gangs of Wasseypur', has come a long way.

Ever since the music album of the second part of Gangs of Wasseypur came out, the 'Chi-cha-ledar' song has turned an instant chartbuster. The high-pitched rustic voice behind the song is of a 16-year-old girl named Durga. What's more interesting is that while the song has a distinct North Indian flavour, the singer comes from South India.

Durga comes from Andhra Pradesh and has been staying in Mumbra suburb in Mumbai since past several years with her two sisters. She used to sing in trains around the Sion station in Mumbai where one fine day filmmaker Anand Surapur came across her and offered her to sing for an album. Her first album, on which she worked for two years, shall soon be releasing in market. In fact it was at Anand Surapur's office that music director Sneha Khanwalkar came across Durga. So impressed was Sneha by the texture of her voice that she offered her to sing for the sequel of Gangs of Wasseypur.
