Family Property dispute: Karthik thrown out of ancestral home of many years

 

Karthik, who made a sensational debut in Kollywood opposite Radha in Bharathiraaja’s path-breaking Alaigal Oyvathillai in 1981, received the shock of his life a few days back when he was literally ‘evicted’ from his Chennai residence of many decades.

The actor, who turns 54 in a fortnight’s time, was one of the leading heroes in the eighties and nineties and stood his own against the likes of superstar Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. Son of legendary actor R. Muthuraman and father of Gautham Karthik, Karthik had been living in his ancestral home in Chennai for the past many years. His other family members and mother Sulochana were residing with him as well.

 

It turns out that Muthuraman, a leading hero in the sixties, owned properties worth crores of rupees in Chennai in the form of commercial complex and other buildings. Muthuraman had four children out of which Karthik was the youngest. Property dispute broke out between siblings and when Karthik was asked by them to exit, he protested but was shocked to see his name missing from the list of beneficiaries in his father’s will.

Though he exited from his father’s ancestral home, Karthik has alleged ‘foul play’ by his brother and sisters. He has been telling his close friends and other relatives that he had a righteous share in his properties and that he had been ‘cheated’ badly by his own family members. Last heard, Karthik is in deep discussion with his lawyers to find out ways of getting his legal share of his father’s properties

Tamil actor Karthik who was seen in movies likes Abhinandana and Anveshana has run into deep financial trouble. It's a known fact that the actor doesn't have a film career anymore. However, his son Gautham Karthik is an actor in Kollywood. 

 

Back to Karthik. Well, it's a known fact that Karthik's father R Muthuraman owns a lot of property besides the anscestral ones. Karthik would live in one of the houses in Chennai's prime locality. But now we hear that, owing to some issues with his siblings he has been thrown out of the house. If grapevine doing the rounds is to be believed then Karthik stands to lose crores of rupees.It is learnt that the actor is seeking legal opinion to get his share of assets from his siblings.

Meanwhile, there are also reports that the family took the harsh decision to disown him as the actor displayed irresponsibility and wasted a lot of money.
