ye maaya chesave Posted August 31, 2014 Report Posted August 31, 2014 Story: Karthik (NTR) has a mission is life. That is to fulfil his mother’s wish of getting married to his maradalu (Samantha). But he doesn’t know her latest details. He gets entangled in a risky situation when he tries to help a stranger. The rest of the story is all about how he controls the damage and fulfils the wish of his mother. Performances: Though the character doesn't offer him much scope to perform, NTR tried his best to showcase his acting skills and carried the entire film on his shoulders. Samantha was good as main female lead. Praneetha is limited to one song and few scenes in first half. Brahmi was usual , Ajay was routine. Shiyaji Shinde,Jayaprakash reddy were okay . Jayasudha,Nazar and all other notable artistes were just present. Technical Departments: Story-Screenplay-Direction: Story is routine one . In Order to make it interesting,director santhosh srinivas inserted so many characters n threads. But he failed to blend them in a proper way which led to confusion in screenplay. And added to that the main story takes back step and other side track becomes the main track after the interval. Director just blindly put fights to elevate heroism which backfired because of worse made fights and weak/ineffective lead scenes to those fights. Screenplay for the first half is just okay, college scenes where passable and a bit entertaining but there where no worth mentioning scenes . Interval bang missed the punch because of confusing screenplay as said above. Second half follows the famous and latest trend of Vaitla Format . Initially second half had some moments, brahmi entrance was also well received but the tempo was not maintained further. Movie goes on same path till the climax, Sentiment scenes at pre climax had some effect but that was too late by then. Other Departments: Dialogues were good in parts but could have been better.Camera work was too good, Editing could have been a lot better . Music by Thaman is also big minus point for the film. Except 2nd song, all songs were not good and Background Score was very bad. Action Sequences were over the top through out the film. My Rating: 5/10 Analysis: Inadequate Direction and Clumsy Narration make Rabhasa a Strictly Okay movie. Comedy In Parts and NTR are the only positives for the movie but they were not enough.
