Hyderabad police registered another case against director Ram Gopal Varma on Tuesday  for his offensive remarks on Lord Ganesh.

Based on a complaint from a local Bharatiya Janata Party leader from Goshamahal, Shainayatgunj police registered a case against Mr Varma under different Sections of the IPC for hurting religious sentiments. With a series of tweets from his official account, the filmmaker had ridiculed the Hindu god.

“We had received the petition following, which we sought legal opinion and issued and registered a case,” said Shainayatgunj police inspector  P. Sattaiah.
