You can migrate a complete top level sharepoint site collection using stsadm -o backup -url [url=http://servername/sitecollection]http://servername/sitecollection[/url]  -filename "d:\backupsitecollectionbackup" command to backup the site collection and stsadm -o restore to restore the site collection.

If you want to migrate a sub site use the stsadm command with the -o export and import option.

Bro As i said i am done with backup and now i want to restore , what all settings i need to check before doing restore on server.

mama idhi admin job kadha, developer ani rasavu. I never did this but i know how to..

before u do this stsadm restore. i strongly recommend u to make backups of all sites in production server
