ఫార్ములా వన్ మాజీ ఛాంపియన్ మైఖేల్ షూమాకర్ స్విట్జర్లాండ్ లోని ఆసుపత్రి నుంచి డిశ్చార్జ్ అయి ఇంటికి చేరుకున్నారు. స్కీయింగ్ చేస్తూ తీవ్రగాయాలపాలైన షూమాకర్ సుదీర్ఘకాలం కోమాలో ఉన్న సంగతి తెలిసిందే. గత నెలలో స్పందించిన ఆయన నెమ్మదిగా కోలుకుంటున్నారు. దీంతో ఆయనకు ఇకపై ఇంట్లోనే చికిత్స కొనసాగించాలని వైద్యులు నిర్ణయించారు. దీంతో ఆయన చికిత్స ఇంట్లోనే జరుగుతుందని కుటుంబ సభ్యులు స్పష్టం చేశారు.

Michael Schumacher has left the Lausanne Hospital to go home according to a family statement.

The former F1 champion had been discharged from the intensive care ward of a hospital in Grenoble in June after suffering series head injuries in a skiing accident in December last year.

In the latest statement his family said there is still a "long and difficult road ahead."

"Henceforth, Michael's rehabilitation will take place at his home. Considering the severe injuries he suffered, progress has been made in the past weeks and months," said the brief statement issued by manager Sabine Kehm.
