Krish’s ‘Vedam’ releasing on May 20

‘Vedam’ is one of the most awaited films of the year for various reasons. First, it’s being directed by Krish, who had earlier directed the critically acclaimed film ‘Gamyam’. And it’s a multi-starrer starring Allu Arjun, Manchu Manoj and Anushka. Lekha Washington and Deeksha Seth are playing other important roles in the film. The story and screenplay of the film have been kept under wraps; however reliable sources say that Allu Arjun is playing the role of a guy from the slums while Manoj is a rich guy. Anushka plays the role of a prostitute in the film. Apart from these factors, the film which has been reportedly made with a budget of Rs.17.5 crores has raised enough curiosity all across the state. 123telugu.com had earlier reported that Allu Arjun has taken Rs.1 crore as remuneration for now. And once the film hits the screens and earns good profits, Allu Arjun will take an additional 25% from the profits share. On the other hand, Anushka has shot the film for 28 days and reportedly charged Rs.2 lakhs per day. Moreover, Aditya Music has offered Rs.70 lakhs for the audio rights of the film, although the producers are yet to take a decision on that issue.

Devineni and Sobha Yarlagadda are jointly producing the film on ‘Arka Media’ banner. Manchu Manoj, Anushka, Deeksha Seth and Manoj Bajpai are playing other lead roles. Keeravani has composed the music. Amidst high expectations, the film is expected to hit the screens on May 20th.
