Filed Change Of Status H4 To F1, I20 Got Defered

Hi

I filed change of status on Aug 20 from h4 to f1, it is under processing.
But now university is saying that it will defer i20 to jan 2015.
Any idea ... If it causes any issues since change of status is under processing.
