Anta Assamey Posted September 11, 2014 Report Posted September 11, 2014 Hyderabad: Press Council of India (PCI) Chairman Justice MarkandeyA Katju strongly objected ban of TV channels TV9 and ABN in Telangana by the government there.He spoke to media and said that Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao's statements in justifying the ban against media channels are against the dignity of a Chief Minister.He said that press has the right to express IT'S views and that its seriously condemned should someone destroy freedom of the press.The Chairman reiterated that T CM should take all necessary steps to lift off the ban on the channels in Telangana, and warned that failing to do so will make him liable for severe action. KCR made following statements when questioned about ban on channels: "If anybody tries to denigrate or hurt the self-respect of Telangana, Telangana Assembly, Telangana culture... we will break their necks. Be careful. Beware or else we will bury you 10km (under the earth)He added, "We will not allow media to play games. If you do more, you will face more. I am telling you as the chief minister; if you want to stay and live here, salute us and stay. Respect our Telangana people and stay here" .
