It covered 82,698 square miles (214,190 km2) of fairly homogeneous territory and had a population of roughly 16.34 million people (as per the 1941 census), of which a majority (85%) was Hindu. Hyderabad State had its own army, airline, telecommunication system, railway network, postal system, currency and radio broadcasting service. The last Nizam had been the richest man in the world. The Nizams also developed the railway, and the introduction of electricity; developed roads, airways, irrigation and reservoirs; in fact, all major public buildings in Hyderabad City were built during his reign under the British Raj. He pushed education, science, and establishment of Osmania University. The Nizams set up numerous institutions in the name of the dynasty including hospitals and schools, colleges, universities that imparted education in Urdu. Inspired by the Indian Civil Service, the Nizams established the Hyderabad Civil Service and built large reservoirs. Bonal kuda start chesindi vaadi era lo ne..and he was the one who performed first pooja over in Secbad temple then... vaadi kinda pani chese konta mandi muslims..who were not in surroundings to Hyd..did those things..... baita prapanchaniki...vaadini enudku peekesaru ante..ila negative points raise cheste ne kada...oppukunedi.... even though...Nizam agreed for mergining into India, Asif Jahi ani okadu unde..he was kind of Army chief.....he was the one behind Razakar revolt...and atrocacies against Hindus... Nizam...complete ga health issues to sideline aite..he took over the army and threatened about mergining into Pakistan.. on the last day of war...Nizam called in the Indian Army officer leading the operation, and said i am willing to hand over the state to Indian Govt...u guys take care of Asif.....after that..they caught him and sent to pakistan.... When did u go to pre 1940's btw
