Power Review

Story:

 

 

ACP Baldev Sahay (Ravi Teja) is a corrupt cop in Kolkata. He dies in a fierce fight. Tirupathi (Ravi Teja) is a cop wannabe in Hyderabad. The home minister of Kolkata recruits Tirupathi to play as ACP Baldev as he looks like him. Rest of the story is all about why ACP Baldev became a corrupt cop and how Thirupathi executed the the unfinished mission of Baldev.

 

 

Perrformances:

 

Raviteja: It's a Cakewalk for Raviteja, he was too good as Tirupathi and entertained as much as can, he was also perfect in ACP Baldev role.Overall he carried the film on his shoulders with his performance and screen presence.

 

Others: Hansika was good , Regina has done short role of second heroine in flashack, she was cure as usual. Mukesh rishi was fine, Sampath Raj has done main villain role but he doesn't have much scope. Prakash raj made his presence felt though in a short role. Ajay and subbaraju,brahmaji were apt in supporting roles. Brahmi was usual, saptagiri ,posani were also fine.

 

 

Technical Departments: 

 

 

Story-Screenplay-Direction: Debutante Director Bobby has followed the commercial formula for his first film. He tried to give a different picture to the routine story with two twists, one at the interval and another one at the climax. Interval twist was not so great, but climax twist had effect. Screenplay was good for the first half .Comedy worked for the most of the time and also opening sequence was helpful to hold the interest of audience . But second half had so much to tell and the emotional impact was just lesser than required. Also unnecessary parody brahmi dance  scene which is very much similar to balupu was not that good. Overall director has done a fine job but could have done better .

 

 

Other Departments:

 

 

Dialogues by kona venkat were fine. Camera work was too good with rich visuals. Editing was okay. Music by thaman is adequate ,songs were alright but background score was only good in parts.Action Sequences were over board but port fight in second half was terrific and received huge response .

 

 

My Rating; 6/10

 

 

Analysis: Power- A regular Action Entertainer.Better Screenplay for the second half could have made the difference,but  Raviteja and entertainment worked out well for the movie.
