Betting Bangarraju Posted September 14, 2014 Report Posted September 14, 2014 7 yrs athani cr. history lo untada negative record. It's safe for him to stay at India. After 7 yrs he can come back to USA. Where cr. history will be wiped off. But in any case he comes in contact with cr. Beureu or collection agency, he will be tracked on his every movement. Be careful.
THE_FNG Posted September 14, 2014 Report Posted September 14, 2014 Lite bhayya. India vacchi peekataniki legal ga aithe no route. Hague convention ani okkati untadi. Basically, Countries A & B should have signed that together. That allows either country to legally prosecute/proceed on any individual in the other country. As far as I know the Hague Convention treaty was not signed between US and India. I do know that some times lenders use back channels and harras people to pay up that money they owe. Just like India lo banks, CC payments kosam local goons ni hire chesinattu. But, adi chaala rare and depends on the amount owed, reputation of the company, how much it is going to cost them to recover the money, if the account is with a collections company and many more factors. I think he can rest easily. USCIS kuda maari antha patichukodu, unless they see that the candidate has purposefully tried to dupe the lenders. I mean, USCIS has all your records in conjunction with IRS, so how much you make, your spending, savings everything is recorded. Source: I work in Compliance and Privacy
nahor1010 Posted September 14, 2014 Report Posted September 14, 2014 Ask him to call the credit card companies and explain the problem to them. One of my friend had a similar problem with capital one. He had 45k in credit card debt. After talking to them and telling them I cannot pay, bank agreed with him and asked him to pay $10k instead of45k. Ofcourse credit history dengindhi but he got away by paying only 10k instead of 45k.
