YDERABAD: The human trafficking scam ripped through the already wobbly Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on Thursday with expelled leader Aale Narendra charging party president and former Union minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of being a drunkard who was involved in trafficking of women to the Gulf and a master passport forger.

"What is your (KCR's) history? Have you not transported women to the Gulf by collecting lakhs of rupees? I am ready to prove this. In fact, you are the one well-versed in faking passports and trafficking people abroad," Narendra said at a press conference a day after he was expelled by Rao ironically for links with the human trafficking scam.

This is clearly the first act of a no-holds barred slanging match and more juicy accusations are to come. But what will clearly happen is that people of Telengana, one of the most impoverished patches of India, which had hoped that representatives elected from there would argue their cause, are going to be left voiceless.

The Medak MP claimed he would prove charges levelled by him against KCR in "the next episode" after May 2. Referring to KCR as 'KD No:1' (known desparado), Narendra claimed: "I am being made the scapegoat in this though I am totally innocent. I dare KCR to get me arrested in two days in the fake passports case if he is a man."

The expulsion late on Wednesday followed remarks by Union parliamentary affairs minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi that Narendra, till recently a Congress ally, was involved in trafficking. Dasmunshi reportedly told MPs at a meeting called by the speaker that Narendra took Guajarati women to the US on fake passports.
