How to get my I-140 approval notice (Green Card - 2nd Stage approval notive) from USCIS? My Employer is not giving me the I-140 approval notice for me. My employer says it is the company policy to not give the I-140 approval notice as Green Card is employer based. I want to change the employer and port my priority date from the existing Green Card application. Are there any other ways in getting I-140 from USCIS and also are there any issues in porting priority date from previously approved I-140.

You can file a G-639 Freedom Of Information Act request and that would get you a complete copy of your file, but it can take up to a year to obtain it. There are ways to expedite it which can be found in the instructions. As far as any issues with the I-140, you would need to have a PERM filed and approved and then file another I-140 before your current employer can withdraw the current I-140. So usually you have the new employer file a PERM before you leave your current employer and then you have them file an I-140 using Premium Processing. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I would be happy to answer them for you without additional charge, if not, please do not forget to click ACCEPT. That is the only way that I can get paid a small percentage of your deposit. If you do not click accept, the website gets all of your deposit and I get nothing. When you click accept, you are not charged again and we can continue to communicate without additional charge if you have a few follow-up questions. If you would like to request me in the future, just put my name on the subject line. Positive feedback for my service to you (not the state of the law as it is) is always appreciated as well as any bonus if you think I deserve it. Thank you.
