Once again, the Polavaram project issue has sparked controversy as the followers of Aswaraopet MLA Venkateswarlu has staged protest demanding the Kukkunuru mandal to be kept in the Telangana region. This issue has turned violent as the AP and TS people in the West Godavari district has shouted slogans as 'Jai Andhra' and 'Jai Telangana'.They have even thrown chairs against each other. The situation has turned violent though the Collector of West Godavari district reviewed the situation.
