Story:

Shankar (Mahesh Babu) is an orphan who is adopted by a sincere police officer (Rajendra Prasad). But he is forced to leave and become a cop on his own. Shankar is a powerful police officer who uses unconventional methods to bring criminals to justice. He is posted to a village where Damodhar is building a power plant, which is fiercely opposed by the locals. Shankar finds a personal connection after going to the village. Rest of the story is all about how Shankar sets everything right.

Performances:

Mahesh has done reasonably well and also tried a bit different diction .He tried his best to  impress with his screen presence and comedy timing but could not do much because of excessive dialogues and loud diction  worked against him especially in second half. Tamanna as female lead is just present for the sake of songs.  Sonu sood once again wasted in puppet kind of villain role, also there was no lip sync for his scenes except one or two. Rajendra prasad made his presence felt. Nazar,Vennela Kishore were okay. Brahmi was usual but this time he could not entertain  as in earlier vytla films. Ashish Vidyarthi's character is just disgusting. Rao Ramesh, Ajay have very short roles. Others were okay.

Technical Departments:

Story-Screenplay-Direction: Story line is tried and tested revenge based with typical vaitla kind of screenplay of hero playing games with comedians & villain gang to achieve his goal. Screenplay was some what okay for the first half, some comedy scenes worked well and mahesh was impressive. Movie goes on passable mode till interval, second half initially starts on a good note but after the movie shifts to the comedy based narration as mentioned above , narration falls flat and never picks up till the climax. Vaitla has to change his pattern as early as possible, he has repeated the narration/characters flavor for his most of the films but a strong story or emotional connect is completely missing in aagadu  unlike his earlier movies. Hero is introduced with a big hype but after the intro hungama , he deals with villain's henchmen in a comic way to get things done. It's okay with comedians but after a powerful confrontation scene at the interval and knowing the personal rivalry  between his family and villain, he again follows the same path which had major effect on movie's emotional quotient.  Because of excessive dialogue and loud comedy, entertainment factor didn't had much effect. And as said above the emotional quotient is missing in the entire movie, Villain is unaware about hero's plan and like a puppet he dances to heroes tunes, in climax also vaitla never tried to showcase the main conflict of hero-villain and there was no point in putting brahmi medley dances just before climax  ,it's not the kind of comedy we expect from brahmi/vaitla .Also villain gets to know all the facts when hero himself tells the actual truth. Overall Vaitla missed a golden chance to score and was not even able to give ordinary output.

Other Departments:

Dialogues were only good in parts went overboard for most of the times. Camera was good and especially in second song. Editing was okay. Music by thaman is once again just adequate, songs werey okay but background score is loud and only good for some scenes. Action sequences were okay.

My Rating; 5/10

Analysis: Aagadu has some good/fun moments ,but loud comedy , inadequate direction in second half completely letdown the movie.
