So the Net income is comparatively less than the gross. Net income= Number of tickets sold* Ticket price after the entertainment tax. Entertainment Tax in AP- 20%(15% for Telugu Films) Entertainment Tax in Tamilnadu- 15 %( Tamil Films are not subjected to Tax) Note: The amount of tax may vary according to the luxuries provided by the theaters such as Air conditioners, Multiplexes etc.. Share: Share is the amount of income which is left after the tax and the rent deducted by the owners of respective theaters from the net and pays to the distributors. Share: Net- Rentals of Owners of respective theaters. Example: If a Film grosses 100 crores at an average ticket price of 100 rs when 1 crore tickets are sold. Consider 20% of entertainment tax then Net will be 80 crores and consider the rentals of theaters be at least 30% of the ticket price. Then the Share will be 50 crores. Gross- 100 Crores Net-80 crores(20 % of entertainment tax) Share-50 Crores( Income generated from the net after the deduction of the theater rentals) Ila chusthe share Sagame untundi antav
