J Jayalalitha has been alloted with the numbers along with the other three convicted . Jayalalitha is provided with 7402 , Sasikala is allotted with 7403 , Sudhakaran is allotted with number 7404 and Ilavarasi with 7405 . CM Jayalalitha will be henceforth called with the number prisoner No - 7402 in the jail

She was also slapped a fine of Rs 100 crore related with the illegal asset case to the tune of Rs 66 crores. Other co- convicts Sasikala, Ilavarasan and Sudhakaran were also sentenced for four years and imposed a fine of Rs 10 crores each. On the other hand, Jayalalithaa has been shifted to private medical hospital in Bangalore and after that she is likely to be shifted to jail.

In a landmark judgement last year, the Supreme Court ruled that any law-maker found guilty of a crime that carries at least a two-year jail sentence will be disqualified immediately after conviction and barred from contesting elections. Before that, criminal law-makers could remain in office if they appealed within three months against their conviction.Jayalalithaa's AIADMK swept the national election in May, winning all but two seats on the state. The party is the third-largest in Parliament. Tamil Nadu will vote for its next government in two years. She is expected to select a loyalist to replace her as head of the government. She will also appeal to a higher court against her verdict and sentence of four years.

timmy Posted September 27, 2014 Author Report Posted September 27, 2014 ఎక్కడో కర్ణాటకలో పుట్టి తమిళుల గుండెల్లో గూడు కట్టుకుని అమ్మగా, పురచ్చితలైవిగా ఎదిగిన జయ జీవితం ఆసాంతం ఆసక్తిదాయకం. ఆమె జీవితంలో ఉన్నన్ని ఎత్తుపల్లాలు చాలా మంది చూసి ఉండరు. 1948లో కర్ణాటకలోని (అప్పట్లో మైసూరు స్టేట్) మండ్య జిల్లా మేలుకొటే అనే గ్రామంలో అయ్యంగార్ల కుటుంబంలో జయలలిత జన్మించారు. ఆమె తాత మైసూరు రాజ్యంలో సర్జన్ గా పనిచేస్తుండేవారు. జయకు రెండేళ్ల వయసు ఉండగానే ఆమె తండ్రి మరణించారు. దీంతో ఆమె తల్లి సంధ్య... జయను తీసుకుని బెంగళూరుకు మకాం మార్చారు. అక్కడే ఆమె తన చదువును ప్రారంభించింది. అనంతరం జయ కుటుంబం చెన్నైకి తరలి వెళ్లింది. చెన్నైలోనే జయ చదువంతా సాగింది. చదువులో జయ ఎప్పుడూ టాపర్ గానే ఉండేవారు. ఆమె ప్రతిభకు ప్రభుత్వం మెరిట్ స్కాలర్ షిప్ కూడా ఇచ్చింది. తమిళం, కన్నడ, తెలుగు, మలయాళం, హిందీ, ఇంగ్లీష్ భాషలను జయ అనర్గళంగా మాట్లాడగలరు. 15 ఏళ్ల వయసులో జయ తన తల్లి బాటలో సినిమాతారగా తొలిసారిగా సినిమాల్లో నటించారు. ఆ తర్వాత ఆమె వెనక్కి తిరిగి చూసుకోలేదు. అగ్రనటులందరి సరసన ఆమె నటించారు. తన సినిమా కెరీర్ లో 140కి పైగా సినిమాల్లో నటించిన ఆమె ప్రేక్షకులను ఉర్రూతలూగించారు. తమిళ్, తెలుగు, కన్నడ, హిందీ సినిమాలలో నటించిన జయ తక్కువ కాలంలోనే ప్రజలకు చేరువయ్యారు. తమిళ సూపర్ స్టార్ ఎంజీఆర్ అండతో 1982లో ఆమె ఏఐఏడీఎంకేలో చేరారు. అప్పటికే ఆమె ఎంజీఆర్ తో కలసి 24 సినిమాల్లో నటించారు. ఎంజీఆర్ కోరిక మేరకు జయ రాజ్యసభ ఎంపీగా పనిచేశారు. ఈ పదవిలో ఆమె 1984 నుంచి 1989 వరకు ఉన్నారు. 1987లో ఎంజీఆర్ మరణించడంతో ఏఐఏడీఎంకేలో చీలిక వచ్చింది. ఎంజీఆర్ భార్య జానకి పార్టీలో ఓ వర్గానికి నాయకత్వం వహించి 96 మంది సభ్యుల అండతో 1988 జనవరిలో ముఖ్యమంత్రిగా ఎన్నికయ్యారు. అయితే అప్పటి రాజీవ్ ప్రభుత్వం ఆర్టికల్ 356 ఉపయోగించి జానకి ప్రభుత్వాన్ని పడగొట్టి రాష్ట్రపతి పాలన విధించారు. ఆ తర్వాత ఏఐఏడీఎంకే పగ్గాలను చేపట్టడంలో జయ సక్సెస్ అయ్యారు. 1991లో మొదటిసారి ఆమె తమిళనాడు ముఖ్యమంత్రిగా ఎన్నికయ్యారు. తన తొలి పదవీకాలంలోనే జయపై అవినీతి ఆరోపణలు వెల్లువెత్తాయి. 2001లో ఆరోపణలు పెరిగిపోయాయి. 1996లో ఆమె అవినీతిపై ప్రస్తుత బీజేపీ నేత సుబ్రహ్మణ్యస్వామి ఫిర్యాదు చేశారు. 18 ఏళ్ల సుదీర్ఘ కాలం పాటు కొనసాగిన విచారణలో ఈ రోజు తుది తీర్పు వెలువడింది. నాలుగేళ్ల జైలు శిక్ష, రూ. 100 కోట్ల జరిమానా విధిస్తూ కోర్టు తుది తీర్పును వెలువరించింది. దీంతో, ప్రజా ప్రాతినిథ్య చట్టం కింది ఆమె ముఖ్యమంత్రి పదవితో పాటు ఎమ్మెల్యే పదవిని కూడా కోల్పోయారు. చిన్న తనంలో అనేక కష్టాలను ఎదుర్కొని... నటిగా అలరించి, రాజకీయవేత్తగా రాష్ట్ర, జాతీయ స్థాయిలో తనదైన ముద్ర వేసి... చివరకు ఒక దోషిలా కటకటాల వెనక్కి వెళ్లిన జయ చరిత్ర అందరినీ కలచివేసేదే.
