tony1990 Posted October 1, 2014 Report Posted October 1, 2014 Hi, I would like to have your serious contributions please and help me out! I recently received reckless driving ticket for driving a car at 93 on 70 limit way in Kentucky. I wasn't arrested/ charged/asked for finger prints. I was given an option to pay online (as i in kansas) or visit court next month. I am not sure if there any similar posts, I have following questions for you. Please suggest/express your opinions. I) I am on f1 visa, will it affect during H1 filing next year or GC coming years? 2) does reckless driving show up in my records at point of entry? I am I good enough to re enter? 3) shall i hire an attorney and fight the case at the court next month? Is it worth giving a try? 4) if I pay the amount, I am done. But if I visit court next month, will they charge for a jail/ license suspension(Kentucky)? 5) Will I be facing any problem at point of entry due to reckless driving record? Yes, I drive very slow usually, that was my new car and had friends who insisted me to drive fast. Peer pressure! I should have had held my nerves :( I am really worried about h1 and GC :( Please help me out Quote

danny123 Posted October 1, 2014 Report Posted October 1, 2014 HI toni, 1st think it doesn't effect your H1 or F1 2nd part you have to take an appointment to court go attend if you are guilty you need to pay fine, if you are not guilty you can appeal court will give another date to attend where the cop who has given ticket should attend by any means if cop miss court date your ticket will be not valid. 3rd point yes if you say guilty and pay fine it will be in records for some time which doesn't effect your legal status they will give options to attend some classes which will take off that ticket from records Don't worry its is matter of some time and money Quote

venkannadora Posted October 2, 2014 Report Posted October 2, 2014 few months back ,i got the reckless driving ticket. I hired a lawyer and he did get my ticket amended to radar defect by negotiating with the prosecutor at court . No points no court appearance. I heard that in kansas if you pay the double fine then no points. but Not sure. I had my h1B stamping after this incident and i didn't have any issues at the time of stamping and port of entry I dont know does it affects GC process. Quote

Don't repeat this again. It wont have influence on H1 or GC. Quote
