afuser Posted October 5, 2014 Report Posted October 5, 2014 An RTI query on criminal records of 150 corporators falling under the jurisdiction of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has thrown up quite surprising results. There are 41 GHMC corporators from various political parties who have 113 pending criminal cases in Hyderabad. The RTI query, posed to police stations by Forum for Good Governance (FGG), has revealed that Mayor of Hyderabad, Majid Hussain has 7 criminal cases pending against him. The results of the RTI queries from individual police stations were analysed by experts consisting of former judges, IPS and IAS officers, before FGG released the results. “At Humayun Nagar police station, Mayor Majid Hussain is facing charges of attempt to murder and rioting. Because of his public image, we urged police to double check this fact. Our aim is not to offend anybody personally ,” said Secretary, FGG, P. Padmanabha Reddy.
