i think her testimony is more of to prove his moral character and good things that could be differentaited from the crime he commited...in some cases this will help reduce the level of penalty but not in homicide i believe...

Yandamuri's mother testifies Ragu was 10 when his father died; "He never used to sleep at night, he was very close to dad & loved dad much"

 

Yandamuri's mother said Ragu, after dad's death, drank kerosene to try to kill himself & didn't eat. " when he was 11 years old"

 

Yandamuri's mother testified she took Ragu to a psychiatrist and was on medication; used meds until in 12th grade. #YandamuriTrial
