gargicau Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 ohh ... @ gargicau .. am from UK too.. am interested to know about how you started this business .. if possible consider myself as a layman and exp pls if any business Ideas let me knw.. property development ki shift avvalani undhi naku .. and I have a decent budget too to develop in midlands for my budget.. I started this just 4 months ago. all our products are still in development. what do you want explained? if you are a property developer, yeah incubators are a good target, but they are not that common in UK. In fact, its easier to get later stage funds in UK than to find a decent incubator, apart from the university funded incubators.
gargicau Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 interesting .. So does it involve heavy CNC machining ? if yes, i think its a very cost intensive process right.... So , whats ur target actually ? is it to build a product around an idea and develop it and exit at the right stage ? or do u hold on to ur company long enough so that you can eventually go for an IPO ? I'm really curious bro , let me know if its not an issue.. to build a self sustaining company man. that doesn't have to go through to VCs. although I admit it'll be hard to live upto that goal.
gargicau Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 if you dont mind what kind of nanotech products you work on?? display tech, battery tech.

VC firms value the company based on a few parameters. There's not much scientific method there, although I know that they claim to it. They base it on feedback from initial users of your product, the interest in the market for future iterations of the product, the capability of the team. Typically they value a 1yr old company with a successful test product, with 12x of what I invest. But the later you go to VC, the higher your valuation will be (if you have a successful product that has decent market share or will get decent market share in the future). Angel investors with great product knowledge are rare, and tend to undervalue/overvalue a company based on their impressions on the team. I won't ever go to angel investors.
