the graph clearly says that those values are based on GDP at PPP , .... also its common knowledge that PPP method is not 100% accurate to the point while calculating GDP  .. but when u r calculating the figures for a period of 2000 years , thats the only method they can use to come up with the closest figures possible ... its plain common sense dude , u dont need a Special degree in economics to understand this ...... with the kind of comprehension skills that u've got , I'd say every person that u come across seems like a naive person to u, i dont blame u for it lol ... i bet even the ppl at economist who wrote that article seem shameless and naive to u lol .....
