Help regarding Visa

HI All,
        This is my first post in this forum . I'm following this site since 1yr and its very interesting,helpful and useful too. 

                            I'm working for company A and in USA on L1B visa for long term project since 2yrs. Hopefully will be here till this Dec-2010 on L1-B visa.I got a offer from company B who can sponsor H-1 visa but i don't like the job profile.  Interestingly Company C ready to give a contract job for at least duration of 2-3 yrs. I love this job and it suits my skills .

Here are my questions :

1) Company A is doing bad and don't know how long they will keep here .  Can i go and work for company B after they file H1B petition ? or I can work for Company B only after my H1B gets approved ?

2) How do i proceed if i want a job in Company C ?
