"I was on the way to Ernakulam North station to catch my train. I used to stop at the Chaat shop on the way occasionally to indulge in my favourite street snack I got myself my usual stuff, Samosa Chaat and got through it as quickly as I could and paid him as I was in a hurry.
As I could not find the waste bin anywhere near, I walked away with the disposable plate, quietly folded it and was about to dump it into the bushes. Then a cry from behind startled me. It was the same chaat guy, I wondered why. He politely pointed towards a waste bin near to his stall, which I hadn't noticed before.

I didn't know what to say. I came back, put the plate in the bin, all the while trying my best to put away the embarrassment with a smile. He could have just let me throw it in the open, making his job easier, lesser would be the amount of waste he needed to dispose off. It's not even his native, still he didn't. !

Wish I could thank him somehow, for the noble gesture, keeping my city clean, one paper plate at a time!"
